Mayor on artist
This incredible cultural synthesis which combines different concepts in an innovative contemporary style is the very foundation of his work. It gives birth to unique, strong paintings, canvases that leave a lasting impression on the retina and penetrate memories to settle there permanently.
Sen Shombit, in his oscillation between abstract and figurative art, between the Indian subcontinent and the European world, offers a luminous path which sees cultures enriched and humanity increased through encounter. An exhibition which is also a fascinating intimate journey, a quest to share.
Palalda
The history of Palalda was engraved in 833 under Louis the Pious, from the term Palatium Dani. A castle and a church are mentioned as early as 967. In the 13th century, the first known lord of Palalda Cabrenç, Guillaume-Hugues de Serralongue, replaced his fortifications with two imposing signal towers still visible today.
Surrounded by hills and rivers, charming Palalda is ideal for hiking, canoeing and visiting cultural sites like St. Martin’s Church, the Postal Museum and the Santa Engracia Chapel.
