In these big size 152x102cm mixed media on paper works, Sen is breaking reality by expressing his fantasy. Everything is abstract at first glance, but if you search, hidden human and animal figuratives appear. That’s the visual cue of abstract with hidden figuratives in his treatment of Gesturism Art. He believes that fantasy alone, without it being rooted in some aspect of realism, may not substitute an idea. Because human society at large goes through lots of struggle, pain, hatred, jealousy and cruelty, Sen is convinced that adding some fantasy in daily life can contribute to ridding society of pessimism in life. That’s why this series, also done in 2020, is called “Phantasm”.
